One thing content marketers don't talk a lot about is the fact that they often can just do their own thing, get custom domains, write their own content, reap ad revenue, and land some major affiliate conversions. In fact.... I'm willing to bet many do. They just don't talk about it often!

The question is how? They need a pushing point. PewDiePie knows that best. It's easy taking a brand that has at least some development, nurture it, build on the content plan already in place -- or at least separate yourself from the brand and know from the outside in what you need to do to push that client over the revenue edge. It's that much harder doing anything for yourself than it is for a client. Can I get an AMEN??

The most important thing you need to know about online marketing and revenue is that it will take some time -- but not a lot of time if you know where to look, what audiences you need to target, what offers you need to promote, and how to promote it. The obvious reason (and many of you savvy content marketers out there may already know this) is that what may work for client #1 or client #2 might not actually work for you as your own brand. Think about it.

You've got some testing to do, building your brand, developing your own website (which, I know, can be a bit difficult when you're on retainer for X number of clients), developing relationships with ad revenue and affiliate marketing platforms, maximizing email, and pushing for your own organic presence and paid traffic.
